The backdrop to Fallen Rose is simplistic. About a singer who goes round and round in her circle appearing to never, reach that goal to be a star. Does that explain HER, a wannabe? In the book, we have Sarah as the singer who ends up trapped in her loop or as he calls it, 'her circle'? Toren’s (HIM) who comes into her life. There from the start of her career.
We see, from time to time a bond between them that develops. To some of us, love, rage, fury; that borders on insanity. Yet is love, real love, without those moments? What is captured, in amongst the pages becomes the essence of all, that was HER, was HIM. The backbone to Fallen Rose 'Storm'.
However hard they fight it, they both know, they need to be a part of each others lives, to feel needed. If they cause each other pain, it is simply because they want the other to respond, to react? Does it matter whether that reaction is one of love, regret or loathing? NO. What is apparent is the fact that they both do react, not always predictable, but its there and it illustrates why, their paths throughout the years, will cross, will bring them together, will bolster that love, that rage, that fury constantly, between them.
Don't get confused into thinking that it is just like any other that they come across. It's not. Whoever comes into their lives, their relationships, their moments of lust or even love! What Sarah and Toren's have within their 'Storm' is unique to them. Not to say that others won't have their own 'Storm'. Can forming what appears to be a solid, dependable, reliable relationship, love elsewhere work? Or how about the thought that Sarah or Toren's might find love elsewhere?
A fear of losing their love? Love, ah yes. These days? What value has real love? Played off against the challenge of the next conquest and the next. Try em out, wear em out and discard em. Like goods to be traded off, maybe bought and paid for. Girlfriend this and boyfriend this, said with little or no conviction knowing that next week, it will be another Girlfriend this, boyfriend this?
What makes the odd ones out? The ones who believe love should be special. Not to be thrown aside because life throws a challenge or puts a mountain in your way that seems insurmountable? The whisper of we can do this, together as one everything IS possible and nothing is impossible? Perhaps some like Sarah and Toren's will come to understand that however much you paint over the past, the past remains as much as it ever did, beneath that top coat? Is that why I knew? From the moment I gave it thought, dwelt upon it that it could be nothing less than the simplistic truth from my heart?
Why. ‘No matter what you say or do, you’ll NEVER stop me loving you.’ is so true. If we go back to Fallen Rose Storm, the story. Even the moments she, HER or HIM think she, HER or HIM has abandoned them, they know.
On their lips with their dying breath one name will remain. HIM, HERS - HER, HIS. The cruel, mean streak almost Sado Masochistic actions by both of them towards each other and others who come into their lives. Wrecking relationships, unable to achieve and sometimes lost within their storm?
Looking out for you to hold my hand, it feels like I could fall. . Only in the end, when the silence comes, as it will one day to us all, will they perhaps, finally realize, that destiny threw them together and literally, wants to bang both of their heads together. To get it into them, that they ARE special to each other, that they can be so potent as ONE, together!
Of course there are characters in the story lines, that are part of their lives directly or indirectly. Some that are not, who form part of the ongoing stories separate from the main core of the book, to highlight situations that have occurred in their lives, re drugs, alcohol abuse and so much more, that will in the end change them physically, psychologically.
What can we call this, if we cannot call it love? Over time, we see WHY and HOW, they change. We can as readers, FEEL for them both, SENSE their moments of pain, of sadness, of emptiness, of loss. YET also those times, when they smile, they laugh, they love and LIVE with each other as ONE.
Those in their lives, who also are affected by circumstances beyond their control, or bring disaster, with their actions, that must inevitably, lead to a darkness that pervades, to leave them out of control; dead.
Ah yes. Death. The silence that comes to us all. We can’t avoid it. Only when you understand the merits of being ALIVE. Of a stark truth that maybe you haven’t got long to live? To see others wasting it, abusing it, whilst YOU are running out of time and the need, the desire, the rage, the fury, the frustration of wanting to be with HER, to share the last moments of your life with, the one who SHOULD have been part of your life?
Together as one, everything is possible, nothing is impossible. Remember that? It kind of becomes abundantly clear as they uncover the truths re each other and become closer, that their lives are going to change dramatically.
When love takes over. . . Yeah. . you know you can’t deny. . . An urgency to NOT let the past, cloud that love? To stand tall and make it clear to others, particularly those who wanted to see THEM fall, that it ain’t in this lifetime gonna happen! Can it be reality? That creation of the Happy ever after from fact to fiction or vice versa.
Does she, HER from real life LOVE HIM? Can a writer write such a story with such intensity, to capture the moments when she, HER, looks at the words he writes and realizes the truth so stark, so real, to show WHY she has never reached her goal in life, to be that STAR? When she feels humiliated? Put down by HIM? Trashed by HIM and yet readers can ask, WHO trashed WHO in the beginning?
‘By the time you believe in me, you’ll be wanting love eternally.’ The sting in the tail, or should I say tale, is the way that energy generated by them both in rage, in fury, in hatred, in liking, in loving? Hold on LOVING? Is so potent, it merges, to smother them both, with such an intensity, they suddenly realize, and what a hell of a shock that must be .
When it comes to knowing, they are locked in a storm, that is revealing so much about THEM and creating the US, HIM and HER scenario, as one, turning negativity into a positive flow of energy, that is so potent, it truly IS BREATHTAKING!
It can’t change, the truth behind the storm, she created. What changed, was how it revealed the undercurrent, that exposes them, without mercy to illustrate WHY, they share so much in common. That stupidity, pride, arrogance, insecurities, they both have, can ruin something so beautiful. Which of course is reflected like a mirror image of them both, in Fallen Rose 'Storm', to its conclusion.
In 2012 she spent time on an album. It was OK. Not spectacular though I will admit there are tracks on it that I like. But then some would say that I am biased. In itself it featured her and other talented individuals who composed, recorded it. What they failed to grasp was the way the market is so flooded these days re music and those producing their own work that THEY were a drop in the ocean.
For over 15 years she, HER had been pushing, prodding and there was of course HER tribute act. All the hard work, effort, determination that I had respect for re HER. So why did she feel she had the right to trash one of HER most ardent fans?
It woke me up to the sudden realization that she HAD and I make it clear HAD changed. Of course she was going to! 15 years? Over 1,500 gigs, a heck of a lot of them in real dives where they wouldn't remember who the hell you were the next morning let alone what you looked like or sounded like?
